AMD Ryzen 7000 and 9000 desktop CPUs aggressively target 95°C thermal limits under load. Using Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) Curve Optimizer in BIOS reduces voltage per core while increasing sustained clock speeds.
1. Negative Offset Magnitude (-15 to -30)
Setting a All-Core Negative Curve Optimizer magnitude of -20 or -25 reduces peak VCore voltage fed into CPU cores by 30mV-50mV, dropping operating temperatures by 8°C to 12°C.
2. Higher Multi-Threaded Cinebench Scores
Because thermal headroom is improved, AMD PBO algorithms sustain higher 5.2GHz+ boost clocks across all cores during heavy multithreaded rendering benchmarks.
