How to Tune & Lube Mechanical Keyboard Stabilizers

Eliminating Unpleasant Spacebar Wire Rattle

Rattly spacebar, shift, enter, and backspace keys ruin typing acoustics. Tuning stabilizers eliminates wire ticking and creates a solid, dampened thock sound.

3 Proven Stabilizer Mods:

  1. Lubing Wire Ends (Permatex Dielectric Grease): Dip steel stabilizer wire ends into dielectric grease to cushion metal-on-plastic contact points.
  2. Holee Mod (Medical Tape Strip): Wrap a tiny strip of medical tape inside the slider stem slot to eliminate wire wobble.
  3. Band-Aid PCB Pad Mod: Place small fabric pads on the PCB beneath stabilizer feet to soften bottom-out impact.
