Delidding removes the factory Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS) from Intel Core i9 / AMD Ryzen processors, allowing direct-die contact with liquid metal thermal compound.

1. Liquid Metal Thermal Conductivity (73 W/mK)

Gallium-indium liquid metal (Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut) provides 73 W/mK thermal conductivity—over 8x higher than traditional silicone thermal paste (8.5 W/mK).

2. Temperature Reductions (15°C - 25°C Drop)

Direct-die cooling mounts (der8auer Direct Die Frame) eliminate internal thermal resistance layers, dropping peak load temperatures by 20°C.
