Choosing the Right Fan Type for Your Case
Not all 120mm cabinet fans are designed equal. Buying high-airflow fans for radiator cooling leads to high temps, while putting high-static pressure fans in open mesh spots wastes airflow volume.
1. Static Pressure Fans (Radiator & Mesh Heatsinks)
Features wider, steeper fan blades designed to push air forcefully through tight obstacles like AIO liquid cooling radiators, drive cages, and dense front dust filters (e.g. Arctic P12 PWM).
2. Airflow CFM Fans (Unrestricted Exhaust)
Designed to move large volumes of air in open spaces (like rear exhaust ports or top case cutouts) where no obstacles block the airflow path (e.g. Arctic F12 PWM or Noctua NF-S12A).
