Crucial Construction & String Differences
Many beginners assume all acoustic guitars are identical. Putting steel strings on a classical guitar will ruin its neck, while putting nylon strings on a steel-string guitar results in weak sound volume.
1. Classical Guitars (Nylon Strings)
Nylon strings are low-tension and soft on finger pads, producing warm, mellow tones ideal for Spanish classical, Flamenco, and fingerstyle playing (e.g. Yamaha C40).
2. Steel-String Acoustic Guitars (Dreadnought)
Steel strings produce loud, metallic, bright projection ideal for chord strumming, pop, rock, and Bollywood acoustic songs (e.g. Yamaha F310).
